On Friday, December 19, 2008 the staff of the Prairie Art Gallery were able to tour the site of the Montrose Cultural Centre. Construction crews are working hard to have the Centre ready for the Prairie Art Gallery and the Grande Prairie Public Library to move in Spring 2009.
The building is heated, which made our tour very comfortable, and workers were installing dry wall. It was great for staff to see the size of the Central Hall and the main exhibition gallery, staff offices, the location of the coffee shop, the Children’s Library and the area where the fire place will be in the Library’s lounge.
Here are a few pictures of our tour.

This is a view from the main entrance of the building, looking at the entrance into the Prairie Art Gallery at the end of the hall.
