en-caus-tic (en kô stik) - Encaustic painting is the combination of melted wax and pigment, fused to a surface with heat.
Join practicing artist Carrie Klukas to explore the versatile medium in a 5 hour workshop starting with a brief introduction to the history and technical components. The rest of the day the participants will be turned loose to experiment with techniques such as painting, gold leafing, toner transfers, and collage - just to name a few.
NOTE: All materials and tools will be provided for an additional cost of $8.00 each, except for the hardboard substrates. A list of suggested supports and sizes are available upon registration.
